La Asociación de Fútbol Femenino de Monte Patria (Adeff) realizó la premiación del Campeonato 2018, en el cual resultó Campeón Unión Huana, el segundo lugar lo obtuvo Águilas, el tercero Peñarol y el cuarto lugar Las Garzas. En la oportunidad se premió además a Sheila Segovia Contreras como la valla menos batida, mientras que la goleadora del campeonato fue Stephanie González, ambas de Unión Huana.
La premiación realizada en el Centro Cultural Huayquilonko de Monte Patria, contó con la presencia del Alcalde de Monte Patria, Camilo Ossandón Espinoza, el Consejero Regional Juan Carlos Codoceo y la Concejala Carolina Rojas Bruna, quienes compartieron junto a las integrantes de la Asociación, que es presidida por Marta Herrera.
La Asociación de Fútbol Femenino nació el 14 de febrero del año 2002, con el objetivo de incentivar el desarrollo del deporte femenino en la comuna, siendo los clubes Panguecillo, Vegas Verdes, Halconas y Huana los iniciadores de esta organización deportiva, que hoy cuenta con 22 clubes asociados.
Marta Herrera, Presidenta de la Asociación de Fútbol Femenino destacó que ve un buen futuro para su liga, junto con resaltar el interés que hay por participar en el campeonato. Además invitó a las mujeres de la comuna que les gusté practicar el fútbol a ser parte de la liga, cuyo campeonato comienza cada año en el día de la madre.
En la oportunidad el Alcalde de Monte Patria, Camilo Ossandón Espinoza, destacó la relevancia de Adeff, una de las ligas más importante del país, por su antigüedad, y porque reúne a más de 500 socias. La autoridad comunal además las felicitó y las instó a seguir avanzando, promoviendo juntos un ambiente saludable, de juego limpio, de amistad y disciplina para que sigan liderando Monte Patria y sean un ejemplo para la provincia de Limarí, la región y el país.
En la oportunidad además se premió a 11 jugadoras por su trayectoria, Marcela Segovia de Unión Huana, Yanina Gutiérrez de El Chileno, Catalina López de Estrella de El Coipo, Zaida Ramos de Unión Panguecillo, Ana Pizarro de Lucitania de Juntas, Carolay Pastén de Peñarol, Adriana Contreras de Wanders, Camila García de Palestino, Lorena Cortés de Twister, Verónica Velásquez de Las Águilas y Angélica Cortés de Carretones.
